Seismic Analysis
Modjeski and Masters has been a leader in seismic analysis and design for decades. We led several NCHRP tasks which involved seismic design: 12-49 "Seismic Design of Bridges"; 12-101 "Seismic Design of Columns with Improved Energy Dissipating Mechanisms", and; 12-106 "Performance-based Seismic Bridge Design". We routinely provide this expertise for seismic loading and have developed appropriate cost-effective retrofit measures. We are active members of the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI) and share their mission of reducing earthquake risk by:
- Advancing the science and practice of earthquake engineering,
- Improving understanding of the impact of earthquakes on the physical, social, economic, political, and cultural environment, and
- Advocating comprehensive and realistic measures for reducing the harmful effects of earthquakes.
