Overview
M&M understands Massachusetts’ bridge inventory is quite diverse and includes movable bridges. M&M has previously performed various levels of inspection on movable bridges in Massachusetts. This includes in-depth, routine, and construction inspection. Recent inspection work includes the Falmouth Bascule Bridge, the Oyster Harbor Bascule Bridge, the Granite Avenue Rolling Lift Bascule Bridge, the Kernwood Avenue Swing Bridge, the Alford Street Bascule Bridge, the Amesbury Swing Bridge, the MBTA Gloucester and North Draw Bascule Bridges, and the Fore River Rte 3A Temporary Vertical Lift Bridges. Additionally, the Veterans Memorial Bascule Bridge and Barnstable were inspected in 2019.
M&M also performed inspections at Bridges Plum Island, Merrimack Route 1, and Amesbury swing in fall 2020 rounding out their 4 year term with a ten movable bridge inspections.
Having worked on various movable bridge projects throughout New England, M&M is thoroughly aware of the potential issues on mechanical and electrical systems presented by severe weather exposure and colder climates and also knowledgeable in how to remediate those issues.
