MECHANICSBURG, PA | Modjeski and Masters, a bridge engineering firm responsible for the design of many of our nation’s iconic bridges, recently announced the promotion of six of its employees. Ralph Eppehimer, PE has been promoted to Vice President. The following individuals have been promoted to Associate: Jason Doughty, PE; Michael House, PE; Anthony Schoenecker, PE; Richard Jackson, PE; and Anthony Temeles, PE. They will contribute to the firm’s internal leadership, helping to build Modjeski and Masters’ continued recognition as a worldwide leader in bridge design.

Ralph Eppehimer, PE has been appointed to Vice President in M&M’s New Orleans, LA office. Since joining the firm in 1982, he has gained vast experience in all aspects of field services including new bridge construction, safety and maintenance inspections of existing bridges, repair and rehabilitation of bridges, and emergency response to bridge accidents. Mr. Eppehimer has been the construction manager, technical advisor, resident engineer, and assistant resident engineer on a number of significant movable bridge projects, primarily railroad bridges. He currently serves as manager of the Field Services section of the New Orleans office. Mr. Eppehimer’s technical specialties are the field inspection of all types of bridges, field monitoring of movable and fixed bridge construction, and the repair and retrofit of bridge elements. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Louisiana and his professional affiliations include the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance of Way Association (AREMA) and American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC).
Jason Doughty, PE has been appointed to Associate in M&M’s Raleigh, NC office. Mr. Doughty began his career at M&M in the Poughkeepsie, NY office in March of 1997. He participated as a structural engineer performing superstructure and substructure designs, checking engineering work for code compliance, and overseeing plan and specification development for numerous projects. Mr. Doughty gained experience in design and/or analysis of various bridge types including steel and concrete multi-girder bridges, trusses, arches, and cable-supported bridges. Since relocating to Raleigh, NC, he has served as Design Engineer of Record for over 30 bridge projects. Mr. Doughty has led the design of freight railroad bridges and also has extensive experience with designing and analyzing Light-Rail Transit aerial structures. He is a registered Professional Engineer in New York, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Mr. Doughty’s professional affiliations include the AASHTO/NSBA Steel Bridge Collaboration Task Group 13 – Analysis of Steel Bridges; being a Friend of TRB AFF20 – Standing Committee on Steel Bridges; and American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) - NCDOT Bridge Subcommittee.
Michael House, PE has been appointed to Associate in M&M’s Mechanicsburg, PA office. Mr. House joined M&M in May 2002 and is assigned to the Highway Design Group. Prior to joining the firm he was employed by Peter Kiewit Sons’ as an estimator and field engineer on several large construction projects in the northeast. Mr. House has experience in planning, scheduling and managing work including railroad structural steel erection, several types of earth and rock trenching, and horizontal directional drilling. He also estimated a variety of projects for bid, including marine work, tunnels, structures and bridge rehabilitations. Since joining M&M Mr. House has worked in many different aspects of rail and roadway design with a focus on hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, roadway modeling, drainage, and geometric design of highways. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania and his professional affiliations include the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) and American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE).
Anthony Schoenecker, PE has been appointed to Associate in M&M’s New Orleans, LA office. Mr. Schoenecker joined M&M in August 2009 as a part of the firm’s Field Services Section in New Orleans, LA. He is the Inspection and Repair Group Leader for the New Orleans field section and is a NBIS Inspection Team Leader responsible for the coordination and execution of inspections and condition reporting, as well as minor repairs and rehabilitations. Mr. Schoenecker assisted with developing plans and specifications for several movable spans and supporting elements. He has provided emergency assistance on multiple occasions as Team leader that included inspection of damages, inspection of structural, mechanical, and electrical components and connections, repair design, and field monitoring of emergency repairs. He is trained in Technical and Rope Access techniques. Mr. Schoenecker is a registered Professional Engineer in Louisiana, Mississippi, New York, and Florida, and carries a verified engineering record with NCEES. His Professional Affiliations are composed of American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) and Engineers Without Borders, NOLA Chapter (serving as Domestic Projects Coordinator).
Richard Jackson, PE has been appointed to Associate in M&M’s Mount Laurel, NJ office. Mr. Jackson joined M&M in July of 2000 and has been a member of the structural design group in New Jersey. He has performed fixed and movable bridge structural designs for highway and railroad bridge replacement and rehabilitation projects, performed structural and multidisciplinary field inspections, performed bridge live-load ratings, developed cost studies for bridge replacement alternatives, reviewed contractor erection procedures, and performed construction inspections. Mr. Jackson is thoroughly familiar with AASHTO, AREMA, and Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania Department of Transportation bridge and roadway design procedures. He is a registered Professional Engineer in New Jersey. Mr. Jackson’s professional affiliations are composed of the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and Heavy Movable Structures, Inc. (HMS).
Anthony Temeles, PE, SE has been appointed to Associate in M&M’s Philadelphia, PA office. Mr. Temeles joined M&M in October 2000 and is a Structural Engineer and Project Manager. He has performed structural design and analysis work for new bridges and bridge rehabilitations, for a variety of fixed and movable concrete and steel structure types. Mr. Temeles’s project experience includes design work on highway bridges, railroad bridges, and pedestrian bridge, including services during construction, for a diverse group of clients in the public and private sectors. He has also spent time as an adjunct professor at an accredited university, teaching students steel design, structural analysis, and bridge design. Mr. Temeles is a registered Professional Engineer in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and a registered Structural Engineer in Illinois. His professional affiliations include the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) and American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE).
