Project Information:

The Newburgh-Beacon bridge facility consists of twin camel-back through truss main spans with cantilever deck truss approach spans. The north bridge, constructed in 1963, carries westbound Interstate 84 while the south bridge, constructed in 1982, carries eastbound Interstate 84. The facility serves over 25 million vehicles annually.

Services included construction inspection for the expansion and pavement rehabilitation of this interstate toll plaza. Modjeski and Masters, Inc. provided inspection personnel to oversee the expansion of the plaza from eight lanes to ten lanes, PCC pavement reconstruction, cracking and seating PCC pavement, asphalt overlay, full-depth asphalt pavement construction, toll island and canopy expansion, treadle installation, drainage, roadway lighting, construction of overhead sign structures, concrete barrier, guide railing, striping, signing and maintenance and protection of traffic. Record keeping was in accordance with the NYSDOT Manual of Uniform Record Keeping (MURK).
