Project Information:

The Walt Whitman Bridge is a seven-lane highway suspension bridge crossing the Delaware River between South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Gloucester, New Jersey. The main span of the bridge is 2,000 feet; the total length, including approach roadways and structures, is 6.2 miles.

The work area for this project includes all roadways and bridge structures between the east end of the Moyamensing Avenue Overpass and the West Abutment of the Main Bridge, as well as ramps leading into or away from this region. This includes the following features:

  • I-76 Approach Roadway between Sta. 83+00 and 165+00

  • The Broad Street Overpass

  • The 10th Street Overpass

  • The 7th Street Overpass

  • The Randolph Street Overpass

  • The Ramps K-L Overpass

  • The Toll Plaza Area

  • Ramps A, B, D, E, F, G, H, J, K, L, Q, T, U, and G-DE 9. DRPA Access Roadways, Staging Roads and Access Areas
