Project Information: The Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge crosses the Hudson River with a 7,793-foot vehicular highway bridge which was opened in 1957 and now carries over 5 million vehicles a year. It features ten deck truss spans: two with spans of 800 feet, six with spans of 500 feet and two with spans of 300 feet. There are 21 two-girder floorbeam and stringer approach spans with span lengths ranging from 87 to 150 feet. Modjeski and Masters, Inc. performed an in-depth seismic evaluation of the bridge, design of retrofit measures, and subsequent construction inspection of the installation of some of those measures.
