Project Information:

The Bagley Avenue Pedestrian Bridge traverses Interstates 75 and 96 with a 420 foot cable-stayed bridge. The asymmetrical cable-stayed bridge has a main span of 277 feet and a back span of 143 feet for a total length of 420 feet. The stays are arrange in a fan-shaped configuration and are supported by a 127-foot inclined pylon. The variable width superstructure consists of a welded steel box beam with inclined webs which support a reinforced concrete deck. The substructure units are supported by pile foundations.

Modjeski and Masters responsibilities include:

Review and clarify project issues, data needs and availability, and the sequence of events and team meetings that are essential to complete the review by the project completion date.

Review and make recommendations on design plans, calculations, and special provisions

Alert MDOT Project Coordinators whenever discoveries or design alternatives have the potential to make changes in the design of the project

Complete a constructability review
