This double-leaf trunnion bascule bridge has a length of 188 feet from center-to-center of trunnions. It carries four lanes of traffic and two pedestrian walkways over the Christina River.

Modjeski and Masters was contacted by the bridge owner regarding failure of the nine-inch diameter main pinion bearings of the north leaf. One of our senior engineers visited the bridge that same day to evaluate the situation. Modjeski and Masters developed detailed repair procedures and rehabilitation drawings. Our personnel coordinated emergency repairs and worked closely with the contractor to restore full operation approximately five weeks later.

Modjeski and Masters had also assisted with several other rehabilitation items that had occurred over the past few years including rehabilitation to the trunnion bearings and trunnion shafts.
