This vertical lift bridge has a structure length of 322.5 feet with a lift height of 100 feet. The structure carries two railroad tracks.

Modjeski and Masters was contacted by a representative of the bridge owner regarding failure of one of the main counterweight trunnion bearings. One of our senior engineers evaluated the situation and found the bridge to be operational, but with restricted operation. A repair plan was fast-tracked which included fabrication and installation of an entirely new 15-foot diameter sheave and bearing assembly. Modjeski and Masters provided engineering services for field inspection, evaluation, design, shop inspection, and construction support. The new assembly was successfully installed approximately seven months after the project began.
