Technique Information:
This
is generally the most common form of technical access work utilized. This technique
involves a qualified technical access individual moving about
independently by climbing or walking while using lanyards as the means of
protection. This technique
allows a great deal of mobility while remaining protected.
The inspector uses a pair of slings attached to a shock-absorbing
device that is in turn attached to the inspector's harness.
The inspector can move about while one of the slings is attached to
a structural member. The
second sling allows the inspector to attach to a point further along the
structure before disconnecting the first sling; thus, maintaining 100%
tie-off while moving about on the structure. |
