Services Technical Access → Technical Ascending

Technique Information:

This technique involves a qualified technical access individual climbing a fixed rope using a pair of mechanical ascenders or a pair of prusik loops. This is a physically demanding method and is generally not the inspector's first choice of moving about on a structure. Ascending is, however, very useful for self-rescue in the event of a lead fall or where an inspector needs to regain some elevation upon a rappel.
