Modjeski and Masters' President Receives 2005 Roy W. Crum Award

Modjeski and Masters' President/CEO and Chief Engineer, John M. Kulicki, Ph.D., P.E., was named the 2005 recipient of the Roy W. Crum Distinguished Service Award by the Transportation Research Board (TRB).  Dr. Kulicki is honored for his outstanding contributions to bridge design and engineering research, and for his leadership in incorporating research results into everyday design practice.

He received the award on January 25, 2006, during the Chairman’s Luncheon at the TRB 85th Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. The Roy W. Crum Distinguished Service Award is named for a former TRB Executive Director, who served from 1928 until his death in 1951. The award recognizes outstanding achievement in the field of transportation research.

A division of the National Academies, TRB's mission is to promote innovation and progress in transportation through research. Active for many years on TRB committees, Dr. Kulicki is currently a member of the standing Committee on Steel Bridges. He served previously as Secretary of the General Structures Section and as a member of committees on Concrete Bridges, General Structures, and Fatigue of Cables in Cable-Stayed Bridges.
