Modjeski and Masters, Inc. (M&M) is pleased to announce the appointment of Rachel L. Mertz, PE, SE
to Associate. With more than 14 years of bridge design experience, Ms. Mertz will contribute to the firm’s internal leadership in the areas of structural engineering and accelerated bridge construction.
Ms. Mertz joined Modjeski and Masters in 1998 and has been responsible for analysis and load capacity rating, design and rehabilitation of highway, railroad and pedestrian structures of various sizes and complexities. Her experience also includes the preparation of hydraulic reports for typical waterways.
“Rachel has become an integral asset for M&M’s MidAmerica operations with proven abilities ranging from marketing and project development to structural design and construction management," says M&M Vice President, David Petermeier, PE, SE. "Rachel has managed numerous bridge load rating projects and has become M&M’s in-house expert with AASHTO’s Virtis load rating software.”

Ms. Mertz earned a Bachelor of Science, Civil Engineering from the University of Evansville and a Master of Science, Civil Engineering from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. She is a Professional Engineer and Structural Engineer in Illinois.
