Modjeski and Masters, Inc. (M&M) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. David W. Petermeier, PE, SE, to Vice President. In his new position, he will be involved with corporate decision making, while continuing to manage M&M’s operations in the MidAmerica region.

Mr. Petermeier, with 20 years of bridge design experience, is an accomplished structural engineer. He has been responsible for the inspection, analysis, load capacity rating, design and rehabilitation of highway and railroad structures of various sizes and complexity levels. These structures include slab, girder, truss, tied arch, and cable-stayed structures, as well as bascule, swing and vertical lift moveable structures. Mr. Petermeier has designed and managed many award-winning structural projects. He is thoroughly familiar with structural analysis and rating of bridges in conformance with the AASHTO (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials) Specifications and the AREMA (American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association) Manual. He is a member of AREMA Committee 15 and the contact person for our corporate memberships with the Illinois and Missouri ACEC (American Council of Engineering Companies).

Mr. Petermeier prides himself in knowing his clients and exceeding their expectations. In line with the philosophy of M&M, Mr. Petermeier believes in looking beyond a negotiated contract scope to focus on meeting the needs of his clients’ challenges. His position as the leader of our MidAmerica operations has provided exposure to a large variety of services for a wide client base, from private to public agencies and railroad to highway bridge owners. He has also proved to be a strong mentor to young engineers, conveying his attention to excellence in finished products and emphasis on client satisfaction to the next generation of firm leaders.
